Happy New Year Everyone!
As you have noticed in the 2018 Blackstone Chamber of Commerce Calendar of Events, recently e-mailed to you, the Chamber has a busy year ahead.
First, Thank you to Joshua Worrell, Director of Transportation with the Blackstone Bus System for presenting at the Chamber's January 10th Luncheon which was catered by the Corner Kitchen at the Blackstone Volunteer Fire Department.  Also, thank you, everyone, who attended and supported this monthly luncheon.
Our next "Lunch & Learn" Network luncheon is Wednesday, February 14th at Noon at Mitchell's Restaurant.  Ilsa Loeser, with Letterpress Communication in Farmville, VA will be speaking on "Using  Facebook for your Business"!  The fee for the luncheon will be paid directly to the restaurant.  Please RSVP to the Chamber office before Friday, February 9th.
The Chamber's Annual Meeting and Dinner Dance is Friday, March 16, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Ft. Pickett Officer's Club. This year's theme is : "Honoring our First Responder Heroes".  The evening will consist of a Cocktail party with open bar, dinner with Steak/Chicken, baked potato, salad, desert, Silent Auction, the Annual Meeting and Awards ceremony, and dancing to follow. Tickets are $40 per person and can be obtained at the Chamber Office. The 2018 Awards Nomination Form is  below for your convenience.  If you would like to nominate someone, please complete it and return it to the Chamber Office by  February 15, 2018.  
Stephanie Newcomb, with Blackstone Flooring, is also contacting businesses if you would like to donate a Silent Auction Item for the evening.
If your business has a special event that you would like your fellow Chamber Members to know about, please let me know at least a week ahead of the event, and I will do my best to send it out via e-mail.
