The Christmas Parade is Coming!
The Blackstone Chamber of Commerce is accepting resumes for the position of Executive Director.
This is a part-time position working 20 to 30 hours per week at times. The duties include, but are not limited to; Chamber of Commerce Events planning such as Luncheons, Annual Blackstone Arts & Crafts Festival, Annual Golf Outing, Annual Meeting and Dinner, Leadership Nottoway and Blackstone Christmas Parade, and must attend monthly Town Council meetings, work with Chamber Member Businesses, and partner with other organizations in support of the Town of Blackstone. Applicant much possess a friendly and outgoing personality to work with businesses and the general public. Applicant must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Quick Books, computer skills, and maintaining Social Media sites. Please submit resumes to P. O. Box 295, Blackstone, VA 23824 by November 30, 2018.

The Blackstone Chamber of Commerce serves the function of offering business referrals to people who are new to the city or town. If you are a member of the chamber, you will get new business referrals when someone calls the chamber asking where they can get the product or service that you provide. Your local chamber of commerce may offer you the opportunity to participate in round table discussions on topics of importance to the community, as well as provide updated information about legislation that affects the community. It is also a way to find out which positions are available on governing boards of city organizations, if you would like to volunteer to help your community while at the same time building political connections that could benefit your business.
The chamber of commerce wants to make your community a better place to live and to do business, so that economic growth will take place, affecting the entire community for the better.
